Abstract
Amazon is an e-commerce company that provides various technology-based products and services. Jeff Bezos, as the founder of Amazon, has successfully developed the company into one of the largest e-commerce and technology companies in the world. This success is inseparable from the business strategy that Bezos employs in the operation of Amazon. The concept of strategy was initially developed from a military context. The subject of military strategy has been the focus of extensive discussion for millennia. It is widely acknowledged that The Art of War, a seminal work on military strategy, was authored by Sun Tzu. explains various principles that must be applied to achieve victory in The Art of War. The relevance of these principles extends beyond a military context, finding application in business as well. The following article will elucidate the business strategy of Amazon by employing the perspective of military strategy, specifically The Art of War. The findings of this study indicated that Amazon's strategy is underpinned by several principles derived from The Art of War. It is imperative to acknowledge the significance of several principles in this context. Firstly, there is the necessity to pay close attention to terrain and ground issues. Secondly, flexibility is paramount. Thirdly, effective manoeuvring is essential. Fourthly, the concept of opportunism must be considered. Fifthly, direct position energy is a key factor. The implementation of these principles has enabled Amazon to demonstrate agility in adapting to changes, attaining excellence, and generating profits.
